The Kansas, Illinois On-Line Community website was designed and created by Jessica Litton in 2000, during her Senior year at Eastern Illinois University (EIU).  Not only was it a way to gain additional college credits, but it was also a way to gain independent web design experience.  This project, and Jessica's initiative, so impressed some of her professors that she was selected to present the Kansas Illinois On-Line Community project to the Illinois State Legislature at a Lobby Day Forum in 2001.

Jessica is the daughter of Cary and Becky Litton from Paris, Illinois;  she and her family have strong roots in the Kansas community.  Following her graduation from EIU (her mother's and grandmother's alma mater as well) in May 2001 with a B.S. in Administrative Information Systems, Jessica accepted a job in the west suburbs of Chicago.

Matt Honnold took over as maintainer of the Kansas Illinois On-Line Community website in January of 2002.

Matt was born and raised in Kansas and graduated from Kansas High School as part of the GREAT class of 1993.  He then attended Eastern Illinois University and graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1997 with a B.S. in Accounting.  He, his wife & daughters live in the Decatur, Illinois area, where Matt is employed as an accountant.
